Waxless museum

For open house, the 5th graders line up in costumes of their favorite historical character. When their button is pushed, the characters come to life and tell their story. Katie went as Laura Ingalls Wilder. Thanks to Diana for the costume!

Dallas Heritage Village

Lizzy's Girl Scout troop got a special tour of the Dallas Heritage Village as they earned a Manners badge.  They got to go inside all the houses and even go upstairs.

Visit from our Russian students!

In February, we got a visit from our sweet Russian girls that stayed with us two years ago! We were so happy to see them again, and they have improved so much in their English!

Science Fair

Katie's science fair project this year was making geodes out of eggs. She determined that different substances form different sorts of crystals.

Lizzy determined that seeds sprout sooner (thankfully they actually did!) with worms in the soil than without. She placed in her grade, but I can't remember what place she won because she lost the ribbon!

January 2014

A quick review of January...

On the 3rd, we went to the art museum and did a scavenger hunt with our Lizzy's girl scout troop. It was lots of fun.

After, we went "ice" skating at Klyde Warren Park. It's not ice, it is actually some kind of plastic stuff and it doesn't slide well, but the kids had fun tromping and falling.

From there, we drove down and spent the rest of the weekend in Austin with our friends. We went to the Innerspace Cavern which was a lot of fun and very pretty.

Here is a picture of the girls with the minecraft masks they made for a skit.

Enjoying a beautiful January day.

Becky's Baptism

When I was 14, I was baptized, but I think I did it more because we were joining a church and less because I really understood. On Dec. 31, they had an open baptism night at our church and from the time I heard it announced I felt that I should go up, so I did.

Christmas 2014

I'm finally getting around to posting Christmas pictures!

We got a free ipad with our new satellite subscription. On Dec 24, I wrapped up both of these and finally when it didn't come quite in time, I gave them the box that had a note that said it was on the way.

Eew!

Lizzy got her two front teeth for Christmas. Grandpa made them on his new plastic thingy maker.
