Weekend in Austin
We went to Austin TX over Memorial Day weekend to see some family friends. We had a great time and enjoyed their hospitality and we can't wait to go back.
On Saturday we got to see downtown Austin and the capital. We watched Under the Sea in 3d at the imax which was awesome. Sunday we joined our friends at their church, and then went to Lake Travis where we had a wet picnic but then it cleared up enough for us to go in the lake. Too bad we forgot our swimsuits.
Monday we went to the Zilker Botanical Gardens and then to the park across the street. We took a ride on the train and then rented a canoe for an hour. Theo and I found out we cannot work together well enough to row and mostly went in circles. We still managed to have lots of fun. Lizzy was so tired she fell asleep in the boat and missed most of it. We left Monday afternoon and on the way home we got to see some old friends of mine in Waco and enjoyed catching up.

New slide
Katie and Lizzy have been begging for this slide at the pool store for 2 years now, but at $150 I hadn't given in. When it went on clearance the other day for half off, I snapped it up. They had a blast! Just hopefully it won't get a hole in it. We told Katie she would have to consider it her birthday gift but we'd go ahead and put it up.

Girl scouts and Doggy birthday
Katie finished her first year of girl scouts this week. Here she is at her award ceremony. They recently changed it so there is two years of Daisy scouts instead of just kindergarten which is great for me since I don't have to buy another outfit next year!
And Princess Jackie celebrated her 3rd or 4th birthday and her first year with us by going to the vet. I have now spent more on medical treatment for her than for my kids! Happy Birthday anyways doggy!
