Flooding in Plano

All May, it rained. We broke the record for the wettest May ever. Then, one night, we got over 6 inches of rain in one night! All of the parks near us are flood plains. They worked perfectly and held the flooding until the river could drain.

This is the trail near our house. It cleared out pretty quickly but it was very deep and moving fast for awhile. This is about 1/4 mile from our house. 

We went back out that evening and it was dry. The girls did not believe me that the river had flooded so far until we found a fish on the sidewalk!

And a big picnic table 1/4 mile from where it used to be. 

All this water was draining into Oak Point Pond. We drove over to check it out and found the creek had turned into rapids and the lake had taken over the park.
