Girl Scout's NASA Trip

Katie's Junior Girl Scout troop got a chance to go to Houston and spend the night at the Johnson Space Center. It was really cool (except for the long night on the hard floor)! The girls and Moms alike had a really great time and learned a lot about space.

The girls made paper rockets and shot them into the air with a compressor. Katie's group made the highest flying rocket!

This guy was really cool, setting things on fire.

I thought I got a video of Katie on the velcro wall, but must have been on someone else's camera.

Unfortunately, I did find the video of me on the velcro wall.

The girls got to sleep that night in "space". This was Katie's view as she looked up. For some reason, she spent the night hiding under the covers.

This is the place the astronauts train. All of this equipment is a replica of the real thing so they can practice.

The future of space travel: The Orion that will go to Mars! They said that NASA hopes to go to Mars in 2030 - just in time for our girls to be astronauts! They better brush up on their science.

Katie and her friend trained to man the space shuttle, and then got to take a ride.

There was a video feed from the cabin during their trip to space.

And they safely returned to earth.
