This year, both girls entered the science fair. We were especially proud of Lizzy who got honorable mention!
Lizzy - Naked Eggs and Osmosis
First, we did an experiment to see which substance would dissolve the shell the fastest.
We had a clear winner as we watched in amazement as 15% HydroChloric Acid dissolved the egg shell in 15 minutes.
After the other eggs sat over night, we took the naked eggs,
soaked them in water and corn syrup,
and noticed the size difference the next day.

Katie - Electromagnets and the Telegraph
Katie had some help from Grandma who got her an electromagnetic kit and built a telegram machine. She was able to send a telegram message to her sister in the other room, using Morse code. We thought it was super cool!
