Space Museum and Sam Houston

For Labor day, we went to the Houston NASA Museum. Katie and I had gone before but this was a first for everyone else. 

This is the actual control room that was used for the Apollo missions. The queen of England sat in one of these seats! Not to mention presidents, astronauts and families. 

On the way back to Dallas, we stopped and got pictures with Sam Houston. 

I don't remember why they have an extra head, but we all enjoyed picking his nose. 

Galveston Beach

For Labor Day, we went down to Galveston beach with my parents. We had a lot of fun and the weather was beautiful!

Katie loved the sand, and Lizzy loved the water. 

For lunch, we went to Bubba Gump on the pier. 

and then back to the beach.

The next day, we spent the morning at Kema boardwalk and rode the "Boardwalk Beast" speed boat. 

and then headed back to the beach.

While we were there, Lizzy lost a tooth!

New School Year

The girls are enjoying their new school year. Katie is now in 5th grade - last year in elementary school, and Lizzy is in 2nd. 

 

Girl Scouts Luau Game Day

To celebrate the end of summer, our girl scouts group and their sisters got together and had a fun luau game day. 

We got to make our favorite Teddy Bear Beach cupcakes.

They got to play fun games like:

Moving a can with a spaghetti noodle.

Rolling an orange across the floor using a banana tied around your waist. 

Cheeto hair! Throw cheetos at a person whose head is covered in shaving cream. 

They had tons of fun!

Knit Baby Blanket

While she was visiting, Mercy showed me how to cable knit. I was super excited to try it out and made a baby blanket for my friend.
