In September, Lizzy's allergies began to come back and we finally took her in to get started on shots. This is after her skin test to see what she is allergic to (turns out almost everything). Anything over 4 mm is considered severe. Oak (top left) was 13mm.
They use the results to create vials for the shots. She had so many, she needs two shots each time. These are only for airborn allergens. They will not affect her peanut/treenut allergies.
When she finally got the shots, the poor girl gets giant hard lumps on her arms. I am squeezing the edges of the lump. She feels miserable after she gets them as well. We are hoping we see great results. We actually feel like we can notice a difference in the severity already but it is difficult to remember if how they were this time last year. She gets shots twice a week for 6 months, once a week for another 6 months, and then once every three weeks for 3 to 5 years. Then she should be good for 20 years to life.
We enjoyed the multicultural night at Lizzy's school.
Katie's band got to play for a couple of football games this season!
And they had their middle school concert. She is in the highest of the three bands for 7th and 8th grades.
