Lizzy and Jackie back then

I was looking for an old photo of Katie for her craft project and came across these old photos of Lizzy and Jackie enjoying a snack together.

Knit Pirate Doll

I've been working on a knit pirate doll for my friend's son's room. It took awhile because I got busy with homework, but I finally finished him. I had him a bit overstuffed so he had to have liposuction. Now for a name... I got him out of this cute book. Better get back to work, I already have a request for another.

Pinewood Derby

Last week, our church had a pinewood derby. The girls both designed race cars.

Lizzy won one heat, but lost to the big champion. Katie made it into the finals and she also won third place for her design. They both had lots of fun!

Our guests

In April, we hosted two foreign exchange students from Russia. They are very sweet and we had a great time. The girls really loved them.

Our Students

We are hosting two Russian students for a month while they attend an English immersion school. They are very sweet and love playing with the girls.

Mops Price is Right

At our last MOPS meeting, we played price is right. It was lots of fun. The girls who were planning it, did an amazing job. I got called up and then languished on contestents row because I don't know what anything costs.

Rock-a-thon

The girls went to a rock-a-thon at church to raise money for a bus for camp. They had to continue rocking from 7 until midnight. We had a very late night but lots of fun.

McKinney Trade Days

A couple of weeks ago, my Mom and I went to McKinney Trade Days. It was lots of fun. I couldn't believe all they had there. Everything including the kitchen sink! I was good and got very little, but I did find a nice table for my foyer that I really like.

Cookout

Last night, we had a fun cookout and a very cold swim with our family, friends, and our students from Russia. (We are hosting 2 Russian girls while they attend an English Language school).

 Greta and Lizzydog

Brrr! After a couple of cool days and rain, the water was 73*.
A rare shot of Greta relaxing.

 Playing a yard game.

The butterfly tree. There are dozens of butterflies and wasps on this tree this week. They must love the sap.

Smores! Yum! The two girls on the right are staying with us and the two girls on the left are staying with some friends.

Even the mythical bucket head monster made an appearance.

More Lizzyisms

Last week, Theo was late getting home so I said I was going to call him and see where he was. Lizzy quickly responded "I hope he's not in jail".

The other day, we were driving along when out of the blue,
Lizzy says "I hope Daddy doesn't eat my friend".
Me:  "What?!? Why would Daddy eat your friend?"
Lizzy: Because she's Phillipino. (she said as if that explained it)
Me: Ok, so? Why would he eat her?
Lizzy: Because he likes to eat Phillipinos.
Me: Huh?... Wait, do you mean jalapenos?

I don't know how she comes up with these things, but now I know why she would think he was in jail.

Service project

Today, we went to the nursing home with MOPS where we distributed socks we had been collecting. They loved the kids and socks were great because they all said they are always missing socks.

Opening Day

Monday, we let the kids swim for the first time this year. They had some friends over and had a great time.
