Misconceptions

Today in school we were talking about how much things cost. Here are the answers my two second graders gave me (we are teaching Katie's best friend on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

a new car costs $400
a house costs $100
a loaf of bread costs $10
a dozen eggs costs $6
but they were closer on things they like: pizza was $10, new shirt was $15, and new pants were $10

Meanwhile, my preschooler is having a hard time remembering numbers in the 20 family -. 20, 21, 22... are not two-dy-one, two-dy-two, two-dy-three...
